Humourfit was established in 1990 as a theatre in schools project to
present an important issue such as bullying in a dramatic light to enhance the
life education skills of students. Based in County Limerick and directed by
Michael O Sullivan the theatre company has travelled the length and breadth of
the country performing to audiences from the 1st year’s right
through to 6th years in post primary schools. The company has received huge plaudits from
Departmental Inspection teams, Principals, teachers and students with many
memorable dramas throughout the twenty three years and the Irish Times have
written an extremely positive article some years back on the ‘Mighty Bully
We have also featured in articles in the Nenagh Guardian and the Donegal Democrat.
The performances are carried out with the minimum amount of props on a
flat space such as a hall, double classroom, gym, canteen space, no stage
required. Teenagers are seated in amphitheatre style and there is no
amplification or disruption to classes.
